How can you help me with LEED certification credits? Evergreen Insulation recognizes that an effective insulation system keeps a building efficient, comfortable, healthy and safe - all of which are requirements for LEED certification credits.  The following explains how Evergreen Insulation products can be used for building green and obtaining LEED credits: Energy and Atmosphere: AirTight SprayFoam® insulation provides insulation and air sealant properties to wrap a structure and facilitate the design of an efficient system. This seal also allows for smaller HVAC systems with the required ventilation. Installing Advanced Fiber Technology (AFT) cellulose insulation uses 1/5 the amount of energy needed to install traditional insulation. Materials and Resources: AirTight SprayFoam® does not emit volatile organic compounds (VOC's) and utilizes a zero ozone depleting blowing agent technology. AFT cellulose insulation is made from 75%-85% recycled paper products and Knauf batts and blankets are also made from recycled materials. Evergreen Insulation installs each insulation type with minimal waste, which can contribute to projects reaching the target of 50% to 75% diverted waste from landfills. Indoor Environmental Quality: AirTight SprayFoam® has an R-value of 6.5 per inch. This allows for higher insulation values in typical 2 x 4 framing cavities.  AirTight SprayFoam® and AFT cellulose insulation create an air-tight seal to guard against air infiltration and energy loss. Knauf Insulation and AirTight® Insulation are both GREENGUARD certified for providing improved air quality.
